I know I am late to post this great day for both me and Tsion. Our baby girl: Bella was born on the 6th of November 2012.  We are so blessed by her presence now in our lives and thank God for it. She is simply a sweet baby angle filling our hearts with joy and happiness everytime we look at her.

We thank God for his great gift and pray that He will keep her safe and use her as he pleases for all the days of her life.

We’re so happy and we’re sharing the happiness with you all.

Her third day in this world

       God Bless You!!

Like every new year, 2005 is now before us. Each day’s outcome depend on what we invest on it. 365 days of each year could be brighter, happier, and prosperous if you make good use of each days.

Me and my wife believe that this year is indeed a new year and new things will happen in our life. Some we know of and some that we hope for.

Putting our days in the mighty hands of our God makes us sure of a delightful, peaceful, successful, and joyful year. So lets do that!

Hey, you can post your quotes too.

February 5, 2012, two weeks after our anniversay (I must mention) was the most happiest day for Mimi and Alex.

Sweet Mimi, who is my “aunt” was so much looking for her special day of uniting with her beloved Alex. The day was so special with all the family gathered in Amburse and with all the singing and dancing.

Photo shoot in the house

Most of the relatives who are based in Addis and Awassa reached Amburse on Saturday. The preparation was so interesting. All the ladies working of the variaties of delicious dishes and the gentlemen working on the stage setups and preparing accomodation for the ones staying the nights in Amburse.

I took my basketball (which I forgot to bring back) and had few chances to play with my cousins.

On Sunday the 5th of February, everybody got up early in the morining (actually there are some who didn’t sleep at all) Everybody did his part, fixing things here and there.

Mimi surrounded by her beautiful bridesmaids and family members sang songs and took pictures while getting ready for the celebration of her big day.

Mimi singing & dancing

Alex was having the same moment at his home with his crazy groomsmen and his family members.

The first place to go was the church for the formal church wedding service. A lot of people attended the program and it was really a great time.

A lot of worship and singing were part of the church program. Both Mimi and Alex were so happy and were enjoying the moment and giving thanks and praises to their God. The crowd were also so happy and part of the exciting moment.

Look how Beautiful she is!

Right after church ceremony it was time for the delicious dishes made by the ladies of the house to be tasted. Everyone came back to Amburse for lunch.

Apart from the very sunny day and the strong wind that carries the dust, the whole thing was just marvelous.

After lunch, the next place to go was to the “New Life” recreation center in Shone. But before leaving Amburse Mimi has to say good bye to the family as it was the last time that she will be there as a single woman.
And that time was full of emotions. Mimi hugged all the elders and kissed their knees. She just couldn’t control her tears. “Tough to say Bye” huh!

It was an other great worship time in shone after the beautiful cake cermony. Aboche, and Bekereket (the groomsmen) were amazing in leading the crowd worship God.

The next day was the “Melse” which was held again in Amburse.
Very interesting time. The bride lost her ring, and the bread was stolen. Aboche was very much ready for such accidents, but didn’t do much good in handling the consequences. The guys from shone realy did give him a hard time. He was even rulled out of the groomsmen club (for few minutes). It was such a fun time.

I wish Mimi and Alex a very blessed marriage.

You can post your best wishes for both of them.

First of all, a big CONGRATS to Engineer YABSIRA MENNA OLANGO.
Yes he is my brother and I am so proud of him. His five years stay in University finally paid off with an engineering degree and ready for action young man.

I can say that Yabsira is a very good, clever young man. He is friendly, GOD loving and hard worker.

Two things Yabsira mentioned during the praise program in the graduation evening.

Melkam Fasika _ Happy Easter
We had a simple talk with each other to have a time together for fun, adventure, prayer and worshiping God during the Easter holiday. We were eight of us at first, but it was only five of us who made it. Work commitment made the other three miss a great time. But we made a plan for a next mission. This is how April 22 & 23 passed…
April 22, 2011
Me, Tsi and Chu from Awassa, Mire from Addis and Magi and Girume met in Shashemene at around lunch time. Thanks to Chu, his endless words for “there is no problem for a car” finally made us rent a minibus for a single trip from Shashe to Wondo. We decided to have lunch before we leave for Wondo so with Magi’s recommendation we went to Rift Valley Hotel. The hotel was redesigned and it looks more attractive. For lunch we had Magi’s choice of “club sandwich”. We didn’t like it that much, even Magi.

All of us at Rift Valley Hotel

Me and Tsi

It was getting late so we left for Wondo. Nothing much happened on the way except Chu was totally not himself after the phone call he received in Shashe, though that didn’t stop him to hide Tsi’s mobile and have me look for it up and down. Destination was first at the Guest house that Chu reserved for us. The place is found about 2 kms from the main road and the compound was so beautiful with lots of trees, fruits and flowers.
After signing in, we changed our swimming suit and went to Sheble hotel. At Sheble the water was so freaking hot. We were told that the water was changed a day before and that is why it’s still hot. We jumped in and had fun until we felt the headache from the hot water.

Going for the swim

Comforting Chu

In the water 2

On our way to dry up and leave we saw a girl in the middle of the small water fall in the hotel and said “why not”. It was totally the opposite of the swimming pool. This one was freezing cold. But we liked it and the fall was such a nice place to be under (with care of course, otherwise it can easily shoot us down). We really enjoyed the fall and took pictures.

In the fall 1

In the fall 2

Then we left the hotel and had an early dinner at the restaurant up on the hill. After dinner we had to kill a 5 kms distance to get to our guest house. Luckily, we found a bajaj for the first three kms and we walked the two. It was really a nice time walking through the ever green lands of Wondo.

At "Bete mengist"

We reached at the house and guess what…. There was no electricity. How unlucky we were!! I guess the people there had enough experience that they had lots of candles and matches in the rooms. So we used them.
Then it was time to pray and share the word of God. Mire read from the bible and each of us had time to pray for topics that was in our hearts. We did have a time to think about the work God through His son Jesus. We sang songs and thanked God for His precious gift of His only begotten Son for exchange of our sins. We prayed that God will work within the lives of each of us to be a living witness of the everlasting life we received from God through the blood of Jesus Christ.
Still no power. For dinner we bought bread, but I was the only one who ate it. Most of us had banana and cookies. All got sleepy and went to bed.
April 23, 2011
The morning was beautiful except that we lack not only electric power, but also water. We had two or three bottles of water and had to use it wisely for everything. Tsi and Mire prepared avocado with bread for breakfast and it was a nice one. With no car and no plan on how to get out of there we reached almost mid day. But we were busy getting ourselves all the fruits we can get until we find out that it was not allowed. We finally agreed to pay for what
we took and asked even for more.

Mango fest

Now time to go. We left the guest house planning to be back sometime soon. On our way out we stopped at Chu’s family house and had “kufita” with “arera” and “kineto”, that was enough to get us all home. The 2 kms to the main road was now in the hands of the boy with the “feres gari”.

Our taxi to the main road

At last we all went to our homes to celebrate the Easter holiday with families.

Dear families and friends, Jesus is ALIVE and He lives FOREVER.

On this day we want you to remember the great work of our Lord Jesus Christ, whose blood have delivered us from the eternal death. As we believe in His death for our sin and rising up from the dead for our new life, we live as a witness of the resurrection.

HAPPY EASTER!!

Happy Valentine’s Day!!

Dear all,

Today on the 14th of Feb, 2011, we wish you all a Happy Valentine’s Day!

Let us talk a little about this day.

Saint Valentine’s Day, commonly shortened to Valentine’s Day, is an annual commemoration held on February 14 celebrating love and affection between intimate companions. The day is named after one or more early Christian martyrs, Saint Valentine, and was established by Pope Gelasius I in 496 AD. It was deleted from the Roman calendar of saints in 1969 by Pope Paul VI, but its religious observance is still permitted. It is traditionally a day on which lovers express their love for each other by presenting flowers, offering confectionery, and sending greeting cards (known as “valentines“). The day first became associated with romantic love in the circle of Geoffrey Chaucer in the High Middle Ages, when the tradition of courtly love flourished.

Modern Valentine’s Day symbols include the heart-shaped outline, doves, and the figure of the winged Cupid. Since the 19th century, handwritten valentines have given way to mass-produced greeting cards. (info. from Wikipedia)

Happy Valentine's Day

Dear couples, once again Happy Valentine’s Day and Enjoy your special day.
